Seven States Power member and board representative Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB) and Tennessee Valley Authority’s (TVA) Chris Hansen join the ranks of Facebook, Google, Volkswagen and a host of local power companies as Solar Champions according to Tennessee Solar Energy Industries Association (TenneSEIA). Both KUB and TVA, who are in good company with past recipients for their transformative work, were selected by TenneSEIA for the 2020 annual award which recognizes individuals or entities that demonstrate leadership in support of solar energy
Seven States Power, Huntsville Utilities Break Ground on Solar Project at U.S. Space & Rocket Center
Seven States Power Corp., with partners the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, and Huntsville Utilities, broke ground on Thursday, August 27, for Project Liftoff. This new power supply flexibility project took months of planning and coordination between the three organizations. The first project of its kind in the Tennessee Valley, Project Liftoff will integrate solar power, battery storage, and electric vehicle (EV) charging with an educational exhibit for visitors.

The 2020 Tennessee Valley Corridor’s Annual National Summit is being held virtually this year as a series of five free sessions. On July 22, Tennessee Technological University (Tennessee Tech, or TTU) unveiled a new Direct Current Fast Charging (DCFC) station that will serve a U.S. Department of Energy-funded project started in 2019, as well as the greater Cookeville area. The unit was installed in a TTU parking lot along a busy corridor in Cookeville and will be the primary refueling site for an all-electric E450 shuttle bus that is part of the same DOE project.
