DERMS: Distributed Energy Resource Management System
Through partnerships with EPB of Chattanooga and OATI, a leader in software solutions for the energy industry, we offer members a specially priced distributed energy resources management system (DERMS) for load management, load forecasting, and control of backup generators and smart devices like thermostats and water heaters. The software-based solution includes both aggregated loads delivered to TVA as well as power-company specific load management programs to balance peak demands.
DERMS software is affordably priced, which means a member of any size can develop a cost-savings program using the technology. Upfront configuration expenses can be financed and incorporated into a monthly subscription rate.
Seven members have signed a Letter of Intent to add the service to their portfolio of technology solutions. BrightRidge, Lenior City Utility Board and Appalachian Electric Cooperative are currently implementing the software in their control centers.
