On Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, Seven States Power Corporation, Cullman Electric Cooperative, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), and Drive Electric Alabama unveiled two new DC fast chargers in Cullman, Alabama, to help reduce a barrier to widespread electric vehicle (“EV”) adoption: range anxiety.

The new chargers are strategically located along Alabama Highway 157 and are part of a statewide initiative coordinated by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA).

The chargers are part of the regional Fast Charge Network, which will cover major travel corridors across TVA’s seven-state service area, as well as the National Electric Highway Coalition, a collective effort by power companies to enable long-distance EV travel via interstates and major highways throughout the United States.

The new Fast Charge Network location in Cullman is currently operational and accessible to locals and travelers alike.
