Project Liftoff Takes Flight

Months in the making, one of the Tennessee Valley’s first power supply flexibility project under TVA’s Long-Term Partnership Agreement launched earlier this month on a site adjacent to the Saturn V rocket on Huntsville, Ala.-based U. S. Space & Rocket Center’s campus. The project, dubbed Project Liftoff by partners Huntsville Utilities, the space center and Seven States Power, will integrate solar, battery storage, EV chargers and an educational exhibit for visitors. “This project integrates three technologies that will be used by

Flexibility: Better Together

More than two years ago, the Seven States Power board of directors charted a new course, one where our energy services company would help members meet demand for renewable solutions. Now, as local power companies usher in a new era of distribution-level power supply flexibility through TVA’s Long-Term Partnership Agreement, we are uniquely positioned to help them achieve their goals. “Time and again, the old adage that “when we work together everyone achieves more,” has proven true for the 154 local

Smart Grid Lab Offers Loads of Information

Seven States Power is building a load management simulation laboratory that will enable us to show members how DER Management System (DERMS) software works in real time, and to discuss the capabilities it offers those seeking to manage costs by filling valleys and shaving peaks. The first of a four-phase development is complete, with a full-scale build-out scheduled for completion next year. “The lab will serve as a research tool for Seven States to test new technologies, integrate technologies into our

Four New Members Confirmed

In just over a year, the boards of directors for four local power companies have confirmed their commitment to Seven States Power Corporation by passing a resolution of membership.
