Project Details
Building and Energizing the Grid of the Future.
The Energy Express Project is a clean energy initiative from Seven States Power Corporation, developed in partnership with local power companies across the Tennessee Valley, to deliver a more reliable, abundant, and affordable energy future for the region. This project will deploy 220MW of battery energy storage to Tennessee communities. The systems will provide enough stored electricity to power up to the equivalent of 25,000 average homes for approximately 8 hours. The Energy Express Project will strengthen grid reliability and create new workforce and economic opportunities across west, middle, and east Tennessee. Together, Seven States and local power companies are building and energizing a more modern system that benefits local communities today and for generations to come.
The project is funded through a partnership with the USDA New Empowering Rural America (New ERA) program to design, develop, and deploy solutions that advance American energy dominance across the Tennessee Valley.
